North Branch Construction completes 23,000 s/f Liquor & Wine Outlet at Portsmouth Traffic Circle

Portsmouth, NH North Branch Construction of Concord has completed construction of the new Liquor & Wine Outlet at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle for the New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC). The new store is located right next to the existing liquor store located on the same site. The existing outlet remained in full operation throughout construction, with no impact on customer traffic or parking.

The new 23,000 s/f outlet nearly doubles the size of the existing store it has replaced. The building design incorporates the new NHLC branding aesthetic, featuring a post and beam clerestory over the sales floor and accent trusses on the exterior of the building.

North Branch Construction faced notable challenges on this project. The new store’s location falls in very close proximity to the previous liquor store, with portions of the construction site less than 6’ away from the existing building.

Demolition of the old store is nearing completion, with a new parking lot to follow. Providing design for this project is local architectural firm Oak Point Associates.
