Noble Ventures and BKA complete 6,600 s/f Barking Crab Restaurant

A new Barking Crab Restaurant has opened for business on America's Cup Ave. The restaurant was designed by the team of restaurant designer Steve Todisco and BKA Architects. The general contractor was Noble Ventures. The challenge for the design team was to create a restaurant that would feel as though it had been part of the neighborhood for at least 30 years within two months. The site for the second Barking Crab Restaurant is the former Seafares American Café. By opening up the 6,660 s/f space, it was possible to create a bar and lounge area, open and private dining areas as-well-as a new prep kitchen and related back-of-the-house areas. The main entry to the restaurant was updated, and additional entry and exit points established in order to allow access to the outdoor café areas. The interior focal point for this seafood restaurant is provided by a boat that is hung from the ceiling. The first Barking Crab Restaurant is located in Boston.
