New Hampshire CIBOR president’s message: Charity golf classic June 20 - by Scott Forte

Scott Forte

New Hampshire CIBOR has your back. We are staying strong and helping our New Hampshire legislators sift through this year’s bills and provide insights from industry experts on how to help the commercial and residential real estate market - one of the main drivers of the New Hampshire economy and tax revenue.

We sent two delegates down to the 2022 Realtors Legislative Meetings in Washington, DC.

The Realtors Legislative Meetings are where NAR members take an active role to advance the real estate industry, public policy and the association. Realtors come to the Washington, DC area for Capitol Hill visits, special issues forums, committee meetings, legislative activities and the industry trade show. This year’s Legislative Meetings took place May 1-6, and the Realtors Trade Expo took place May 3-4. The event is held annually near Washington, DC each May. The event is free for members with a valid NAR Member ID.

The NH CIBOR is actively working to help foster connections with our colleagues on the south side of the border (Mass.). If you are a commercial Realtor we highly encourage you to participate in our monthly networking event in Andover, Mass. on the second Friday of each month at 8am atBrickstone Sq.

Education is a critical component of a thriving industry. NH CIBOR is proud to announce that our first annual charity golf classic (June 20) will be proudly benefiting the NHCIBOR Cares Scholarship Fund. The fund will be used to help support getting more people into jobs related to the real estate market; the trades being only one of the primary beneficiaries.

We are actively seeking affiliate members, service providers of the commercial real estate industry, to help us design courses to help agents better serve their clients. If you have an idea for a continuing educational course please reach out to our educational committee. Our goal for 2023 is to have a full slate of approved CEU’s for commercial real estate agents to satisfy the renewal requirements of the real estate commission. While education of any kind can be helpful, it’s specific education that makes the ultimate difference. New Hampshire can be the example for the entire commercial industry to follow; and we plan to be.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
