Nesmith of Colliers graduates from 2023 leadership program

Laura Nesmith

Manchester, NH Colliers senior associate, Laura Nesmith, has graduated from the 2023 Leadership Greater Manchester program. This nine-month program is designed to stimulate and develop future leaders through direct exposure, interaction, and activities in various aspects of the community, with the goal of building a consensus among participants and fostering personal and professional relationships. It exists to recognize and nurture leadership talents from diverse sectors of the local community through the exchange of viewpoints and experiences.

“Laura provides the highest level of service to her clients. Her attention to detail and thorough understanding of each assignment allows Laura to exceed client requirements. Perseverance and a strong market knowledge are just some of the attributes that make her a great addition to the Leadership Greater Manchester alumni,” said Bob Rohrer, managing director of the Colliers New Hampshire office.

Doug Martin, vice president of Colliers in New Hampshire said, “It is great to see Laura add to her market leading brokerage skillset with this program. Her ability to manage a busy professional schedule while also giving back to the community as a past president of Kiwanis, current president of NH CIBOR Cares, annual Tower of Toys top contributor, among several other nonprofit and philanthropic initiatives is impressive. We’re proud to have Laura on the Colliers team.”

“Through the years I heard many great things about the Leadership Greater Manchester program and was encouraged by friends and colleagues to participate,” said Nesmith. “After completing the program, I can say it was so much more than I thought it would be. As a class, we learned considerably more about the city.  We also met local professionals and officials that shared their inspirational stories with us. The program enlightened us to the areas of Manchester that need the help of the community and inspired us to think of ways we could help individually or as a class. When I was selected this year, I never imagined the friendships and feeling of community that would be built with my LGM class. “

Nesmith had a record-breaking year in 2022. Some of her top deals over the last year include:

• Eversource Energy leasing 21,900 s/f industrial space in Peterborough, NH in January 2023. Nesmith has built a strong relationship with Eversource after working with them for 9 years, including selling land parcels in Newington, Bow, and Merrimack.

• In August 2022, Nesmith represented the buyer in the acquisition of a 119,504 s/f office building in Nashua, NH for $10.7 million.

• Nesmith and Doug Martin represented the seller in the $2.0 million sale of two industrial buildings totalling 76,575 s/f in Warner, NH in July 2022.

• In June 2022, Nesmith and Martin represented the purchase of a 17,258 s/f medical office building in Concord, NH for $2.85 million.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
