National Development opens Arborpoint at Woodland Station

National Development is hosting a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Arborpoint at Woodland Station, a 180-unit, luxury residential apartment community located at the Woodland Station MBTA stop. The ceremony and open house was held on October 25th. Arborpoint at Woodland Station is one of the first transit-oriented, Smart Growth projects in Mass. The concept behind the Woodland Station redevelopment was to create a well-planned luxury residential community with easy access to public transportation. Arborpoint at Woodland Station's focal point is a new "main street" lined with townhomes with front yards and built to a pedestrian scale. The project utilizes a former MBTA parking lot and involved construction of a new MBTA commuter parking garage on the property. "We are extremely proud of Arborpoint at Woodland Station," commented Ted Tye of National Development. "We succeeded in our vision to create a residential community that meets demand in the area for high quality rental housing and will become the benchmark for future smart-growth and transit-oriented developments." Located between the Woodland and Brae Burn Country Clubs and next to Newton Wellesley Hospital, Arborpoint at Woodland Station represents a collaboration of National Development, the MBTA, MassHousing and the city of Newton. MassHousing's involvement as lender ensures that units in the luxury residential community will be available for those with mixed incomes. Arborpoint also features distinctive amenities including underground resident parking, Zip Car availability, a fitness center, spacious community room, business center, outdoor pool area and pocket park. With the Green Line at the doorstep, leaving a car at home and commuting to work, shopping or going to Fenway Park in Boston is easy.

Recently passed legislation creates opportunities to meet CT’s changing energy needs - by Klein and Feinn

For decades, New England has had a summer-peaking power system, where the greatest energy use occurs on the hottest and most humid days, due to widespread use of air conditioning.
