Nadeau Corp. awarded contract for new $3.3 million Plymouth Maritime facility

Plymouth, MA Nadeau Corp. Construction Development and Engineering has been awarded the construction contract for the new Plymouth Maritime facility on Plymouth Harbor.  When complete, the new $3.3 million maritime center will replace the small building that currently houses all Harbormaster operations behind East Bay Grille on the waterfront.

The new marine facility designed by OLSON LEWIS + Architects will have laundry, showers and public restrooms for transient boaters, as well as an office and bathrooms for the harbormaster and his staff. The new facility will provide space for four full-time staff members as well as seasonal employees during the summer months. It will also have space for meetings of the Harbor Committee and rooms to accommodate safe boating, CPR and first aid classes.

With the design exceeding the 35 foot height limit, the project had to clear zoning board of appeals, but its height will allow for greater oversight of the boat ramp, breakwater, and aquaculture development zone. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in May.

This will be Nadeau’s second harbormaster project having successfully completed a similar project for the town of Hyannis in 2008.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
