Mayor' message: website revamped to help cos. relocate

The city's Department of Tourism, Culture and Development (TCD) has revamped its economic development website, with a new feature meant to help make it easier for companies to relocate or expand in Warwick. The site, www.movetowarwickri.com, now offers a searchable commercial property database, accessible for free to businesses and individuals alike. Each property listing includes a color photo, zoning designation (such as general business or office), address, square footage and whether the facility is for sale or lease. A "details" icon allows one, with a single click, to find the property ID number, listing or lease price and contact information. Properties can also be sorted and searched by square footage. Warwick business or property owners can also list available space for free by calling TCD at (401) 738-2000, x6202. In addition, the site offers a wealth of information regarding Warwick's quality of life, its demographics and the business climate. An "infrastructure" link gives pertinent facts about Amtrak services, local highways, commuting options, area oil, natural gas, and electric companies, water and sewer service and digital technology/fiber optics data. Click on the "Train Station/Airport" link for up-to-date information relative to T.F. Green State Airport and progress on terminal improvements as well as construction of the Warwick Intermodal Train Station, which, when completed, will give Warwick the closest air/rail link in the country. The city's One-on-One business program has been a popular addition to a series of promotional programs that TCD began in order to give local companies greater visibility. For a detailed look at the program to date, click on the One-on-One icon to see photos and descriptions chronicling our visits to a wide range of Warwick businesses. I invite you to explore movetowarwickri.com to see how we can help you make your business succeed. Scott Avedisian is the mayor of Warwick.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
