Southwick, MA The Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors congratulates Florence Electric, LLC for receiving the Merit Award at the 23rd annual Excellence in Construction Awards for their outstanding work on the Southwick solar array located in Southwick, Mass.

The Merit Award recognizes the overall excellence in project execution, craftsmanship, safety, innovative elements and challenges, and client satisfaction. Florence Electric took home the Merit Award, representing work that stands above the rest, for its work on the Southwick solar array, which is a Massive 5 Megawatt array (5,000,000 watts). A long and narrow array with very few straight east or west edges made for a project that had to be thoroughly coordinated during installation. Over 90% of the installation labor was self performed by Florence Electric, LLC. Through mud, rain, wind, snow, and freezing temperatures, Florence Electric installed all solar racking, underground electric, 16,500 solar modules, and wired the system back to the combiner boxes in an unprecedented 8 week time frame.

Florence Electric’s goal is to exceed the increasing demands of the building technology buyer in the United States.

Simplifying purchasing, installation and maintenance of electrical and building technology systems has allowed them to reduce their customer’s costs and improve response times. By having a team of the most talented individuals in the service sector, they can offer unparalleled service.  Florence Electric offers consulting, engineering, design, and installation teams in the electrical building technologies market.  As a super-regional player on the East Coast, their goal is to focus on building strong repetitive customer relationships. Their emphasis on safety is simple to understand; their associates are the most important assets in their company.  Florence Electric’s safety programs start from the top down. Their safety director came straight from OSHA to ensure their employees safety and to ensure the safety of every installation. From a very detailed safety policy to job site toolbox talks, safety is always at the forefront of their operations.  The Florence Electric team is proud of winning the Associated Builders and Contractors’ Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP) Platinum Award. The Platinum award represents the highest possible level of recognition
