Margulies Perruzzi Architects creates new office design for SV Life Sciences Advisers LLC

Margulies Perruzzi Architects (MPA) completed the design of a new 8,900 s/f office for SV Life Sciences Advisers LLC. MPA provided interior architecture and design services for SV Life Science's new office at One Boston Place. SV Life Sciences selected MPA on the recommendation of other Boston-area venture capital firms for which MPA has designed offices. SV Life Sciences also appreciated the interactive 3D capabilities that MPA offers. MPA used 3D design software (BIM) to involve the client throughout the hands-on, interactive design process and show work as it progressed. Long recognized as a leader in using technology to enhance the design process, MPA employs an interactive design approach and cutting-edge technology to engage clients in a real-time design process. The space features offices with views of the Custom House Tower and Boston Harbor, workstations, a boardroom with videoconferencing capabilities, and a central kitchen and social space. The neutral color palette is accented by custom natural cherry wood millwork with glass on and around each office door. To provide more light and maintain openness throughout the space, partial glass walls were used in the kitchen and workstations. "From the start of our relationship, MPA understood the design aesthetic we were seeking and helped us achieve a space that is comfortable and welcoming for our staff and visitors," said Denise Marks, partner and CFO at SV Life Sciences. The project team included Structure Tone for construction management, Vanderweil for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, and Providea Conferencing, LLC for audiovisual design and installation. Silverman Trykowski Associates, Inc. provided furniture selection, and W.B. Mason provided the furniture.
