Lowe of The Appraisers Collaborative earns SRA

Jonathan Granville Lowe

Malden, MA Jonathan Granville Lowe, an appraiser at The Appraisers Collaborative has been awarded the Appraisal Institute’s prestigious SRA membership designation, which is held by appraisers who are experienced in the valuation and evaluation of residential properties. On May 21st, he was presented with his designation certificate by Gregory Curtis, MAI, 2019 president of the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapter at its spring chapter meeting.

Lowe received a bachelor’s degree in Ethics, Social, and Political Philosophy from UMass Boston in 2012, while working part-time as a trainee appraiser at the Appraisers Collaborative. After graduation, he began working full time and eventually earned his appraisal certification in 2015. He specializes in high-end residential property, and has done appraisals for mortgage lending, divorce and estate settlement, conservation land, and litigation. He is recognized as an expert witness in Suffolk Court. Lowe is currently in training to obtain his certified general certification, with hopes to eventually earn the MAI designation.

The SRA designation is received upon the successful completion of an undergraduate-level curriculum, which includes a comprehensive exam, a written demonstration appraisal report and attaining 3,000 hours of qualifying experience requirements. Also, designees must abide by both the appraisal profession’s Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the Appraisal Institute’s Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics. 

SRAs are recognized experts in appraising properties of all kinds and form a business network encompassing markets nationwide and around the world.
