Lisi of Residential Properties completes $832,000 sale of Emdalar

Residential Properties Ltd. sales associate, Mary Ann Lisi represented both the buyer and seller in the sale of one of the state's most unique properties. Emdalar, also known as "The Castle," was originally constructed in 1883 for Jeremiah Potter Robinson, Jr. and sold for the price of $832,000. Designed by the famous architectural firm of McKim, Mead & White, the 7,000 s/f shingled and granite mansion sits on 6.34 acres located on the edge of historic Wakefield Village. Containing a total of nine bedrooms and 5.5 baths, the home delivers original architectural features throughout, including oak wainscoting, custom built-ins, high ceilings with exposed beams, and 11 fireplaces, highlighted by an oversized grand stone fireplace in the living hall. The exterior is in excellent condition, showcasing repointed Westerly granite stonework, recently redone shingles, a new roof, and several large chimneys. Accentuating the castle-like design is a south side terrace and a stone tower with a witch's cap roof. The buyers will utilize "The Castle" as their primary residence and are currently planning interior renovations. Mary Ann Lisi, Residential Properties Ltd.
