Lanning of Cushman & Wakefield installed as IREM National’s 81st president

Kansas City, MO Cushman & Wakefield’s Michael Lanning, CPM, was installed as IREM’s 81st president during the IREM Fall Conference in San Diego, CA. Lanning is senior vice president of the Kansas City office of Cushman & Wakefield, AMO.

During his inaugural remarks, Lanning spoke of the influential role played by respected mentors who guided him throughout his career and introduced him to IREM. He acknowledged a number of those mentors who were on hand to see him take office. Recognizing the importance of these mentors to his career, Lanning vowed to pay it forward by making a commitment to continue IREM’s academic outreach programs, introduce those starting their careers to property management as an exciting career opportunity, and engage young professionals in IREM activities.

Supporting Lanning in other officer roles in 2017 will be J. Benjamin McGrew, CPM, CCIM, president of MANAGEWEST, Inc., of Sacramento, CA, who will serve as president-elect, and Don Wilkerson, CPM, president of Gaston and Wilkerson Management Group, AMO, in RENO, NV, who was installed as secretary/treasurer.

Other key leaders in 2017 will be these senior vice presidents: 

• Greg Cichy, CPM, of Colliers International, AMO, in Vienna, VA;

• Cheryl Ann Gray, CPM, of Bentall Kennedy, in Toronto, ON, Canada;

• Anne-Marie Nicklaus, CPM, ARM, of Balfour Beatty Communities, LLC, AMO, in Malvern, PA;

•Renee Savage, CPM, CCIM, of Capital Growth Properties, Inc., AMO, in La Jolla, CA; and

• Chip Watts, CPM, CCIM, of Watts Realty Co., Inc., AMO, in Birmingham, AL.
