IREM Boston president introduction, goals & objectives

I, Jonathan Donahue, CPM, ARM, as your 2012 IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter #4 president think its prudent to provide you, the readers, with a quick synopsis of my educational background and work history in the real estate industry. I have over 18 years of experience in the property management field. I received my BA from Westfield State (College) University in 1993 and received my ARM in 1996 and CPM in 2007. I have been a member of Boston Chapter 4 for over 17 years and have worked for Winn Management, Federal Management, and Barkan Management. I am currently employed by Trinity Management LLC, located in Boston, as a regional director. My goals and objectives for 2012 are relatively simple and follow in the footsteps of the Boston Chapter's past presidents; to provide an educational experience like no other organization in the real estate industry and to continue to grow the Boston chapter's membership. I firmly believe that the chapter can continue to grow by promoting the ARM, CPM, ACoM and the AMO designations to property management companies, owners, investors and educational institutions in the New England region. We plan on accomplishing these goals by: * Upholding the Ethical Standards with which the IREM brand has been synonymous for the past 75 years, * Attending and participating in trade shows, * Using social media outlets, * Utilization of the chapter's website, * Develop new ways to market the IREM brand and the benefits that an IREM education can provide to any individual willing to learn, * Promote the IREM education as the gold standard and the industry leader in the real estate management profession, * Provide a mentoring program to those who would like to further their career in the real estate industry, * Provide members and non-members alike with exceptional and cutting edge meeting and seminar topics Over the tenure of my presidency, it is my intention to keep you up to date on how the chapter is doing in reference to achieving the goals listed above and what other exciting events have been planned by the chapter and its members. President Special Request: Income/Expense Participation It is also that time of year when the Boston Chapter begin to gather data for the Income/Expense report that is produced by IREM National. The chapter's goals in each category have been increased in 2012, and I request that anyone interested in submitting data please contact Kelley Hannon in the IREM office. Hannon or a member of the I/E committee would also be happy to demonstrate how to fill out the form and submit your properties' data. Please note that the data submitted is completely anonymous. Jonathan Donahue, CPM, ARM, is the 2012 president of IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter #4, Boston.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
