IREM Boston hosts annual Economic Forecast Luncheon

On January 16, 2019, The IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter hosted its annual Economic Forecast Luncheon at Flemings Restaurant in Boston. (photos from event below)

As chapter president, I was not surprised by the record turnout of our members, due to the political and economic uncertainty we are facing, it is understandable that our members are concerned.

The program was moderated by Richard Pierce, president of Housing Management Resources, Inc., an IREM AMO. Our speakers were James McDonough, president of Envision Bank and James Elcock, president of Colliers International. They provided thoughtful insight on the current conditions of the Boston real estate market and answered questions from our membership on current values, what to expect and how owners and managers can position themselves to be successful in the coming years.

Also on the agenda was the installation of twelve new IREM members. We at IREM believe in our people, and we provide the tools they need to succeed. We open doors, we forge connections, and we help show the way forward. As chapter president I am committed to providing value to our members, who in turn add value to their teams, their workplaces, and the properties in their commercial and residential portfolios.

I was honored to recognize our 2018 past president, Gregg Jenner, CPM, for his exceptional commitment, enthusiasm and dedication to our Boston chapter during his term. Also in attendance were several other of our past presidents who I had the privilege to thank and recognize for their continued committee to the success of our chapter.

This IREM event, along with our educational courses and array of resources, all exist with one goal in mind – to make a difference in the careers of those who manage.

Nancy Reno, CPM, is vice president marketing & training at Housing Management Resources, Inc. AMO, and  is IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4’s 2019 chapter president, Boston.
