IREM Boston chapter attends regional meeting

Peter Lewis, CPM is the 2017 president of the IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter #4 and is vice president, property management for The Schochet Cos. AMO, Braintree, Mass. Peter Lewis, The Schochet Cos.

The Boston chapter was well represented in New York on March 21 - 23 for the regional meeting combined with Region 1 (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI, VT), Region 2 (DE, NJ, NY, PA) and Region 3 (DC, MD, VA). The meeting provided critical information on chapter leadership and industry trends as well as the asset and property management symposium.

April 10 - 21 we are hosting Congressional In-District Meetings. The IREM Congressional In-District Program will help us connect with members of congress at home. Both the U.S. house of representatives and the U.S. senate have scheduled district work periods during that time.

April 6 the chapter hosted the Massachusetts State House Tour, with a networking event immediately following at Scholars American Bistro.

Also, fast approaching is the deadline for income and expense reporting. It is very important that we have the members’ participation in order to meet the chapter’s reporting goals. To receive a half-priced digital Income/Expense publication submit all data between April 2 and April 30.

The IREM Foundation is a resource for people and organizations seeking to advance the profession of real estate management. The Foundation supports initiatives developed or endorsed by IREM that increases diversity, the engagement of young professionals, and expansion of industry knowledge. The Foundation has awarded grant funding in the amount of $43,814. It has also awarded 175 scholarships with a dollar value of $171,290. IREM courses attended by scholarship recipients - 405.
