Interest in eco-friendly living gains momentum at Squam River Landing - developed by Sippican Partners, LLC

Squam River Landing, a master-planned, sustainable community overlooking the Squam Lakes, experienced increased foot-traffic and interest at this year's Lakes Region Parade of Homes. Among the colorful red, yellow, and orange foliage of New Hampshire's fall season, the eco-friendly community's green building practices were also on display as over 350 guests explored the scenic lakeside development over Columbus Day weekend. Located alongside Riveredge Marina on Leavitt Rd., Squam River Landing is being developed by Sippican Partners, LLC., and offers mountain and lake view home sites, right-sized energy efficient homes, and the opportunity to live in one of the world's most pristine and well preserved lake regions. Guests of the Lakes Region Parade of Homes were invited to tour the community's "Discovery Home," showcasing a sample home design and interior finishes, as well as four resident homes currently in various stages of construction. In addition to the strong visitor turnout at this year's event, construction activity at Squam River Landing has been high throughout the fall as home sites continue to be purchased and developed. "This year, The Lakes Region Parade of Homes provided the perfect opportunity to showcase our development and allowed visitors to see all phases of our home construction process," said Barry Gaw, development partner and founder of Sippican Partners. "As the premier sustainable community on Squam Lake, we have been seeing an increase in green building and eco-friendly development inquiries from potential buyers. Guests were truly impressed by the thoughtful home site selections, right-sized building designs, unmatched setting, and lake access at our adjacent Riveredge Marina." Featuring architecturally-distinct home designs that pay homage to lake cottages and camps around the area, Squam River Landing offers energy efficient homes varying in size from 1,400 s/f to 3,500 s/f with prices ranging from the mid-$400,000's to the mid-$800,000's depending on size, home site, and level of sustainability and finishes. Notably, all home designs and construction methods are compliant with Energy Star, LEED, and National Association of Home Builders Green standards. Located under two hours from Boston in the center of New Hampshire's Lakes Region, Squam River Landing is accessible from I-93 and sits along Rte. 25. The community is adjacent to the town beach, and just minutes from Ashland's picturesque town center featuring restaurants, shops, and services. Squam River Landing is a thoughtfully planned community of sustainable homes carefully crafted and inspired by the heritage of the Squam Lakes. The architecture of these homes reflects lakeshore camps of days past, while using today's sustainable design features. These homes will use less energy, less water and natural resources, reduce waste of resources while creating a healthier, comforting home and less impact of the environment. The project includes access to Squam Lake through Riveredge Marina, where families and friends come together to enjoy all the lake has to offer. The property is located in the heart of New Hampshire's lake region and at the foothills of the White Mountains. The property offers views of Little Squam Lake, the Squam River and several mountain ranges. Sippican Partners Construction, LLC staff includes LEED AP and NAHB Certified Green Professionals to help clients balance their needs, desires, and budget with the right level of "green" building to provide them with an efficient, sustainable, comfortable home they can afford. As a preferred builder at Squam River Landing, Sippican Construction is proud to be an integral part of a development that recently won awards from the International Property Awards in two categories, Leisure Development and Mixed Use Development.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
