HallKeen Management adds two properties to facility management portfolio totaling 80,000 s/f

HallKeen Management's commercial portfolio has recently expanded. The portfolio has gained an additional 80,000 s/f with the facilities management acquisitions of Harvard Sq. and South Shore Place in Braintree. The owner for both properties is Carpenter & Company Inc. The contract includes full-service leasing and management duties for the commercial and retail complex at South Shore Place; and facilities management for Harvard Sq. Theatre. South Shore Place sits on the location where the former Sheraton Braintree once stood. South Shore Place is a new retail and commercial space located across the street from the South Shore Plaza, off Exit 6 on I-93. It houses a variety of stores and restaurants including the new location for Legal Sea Foods, a Starbucks and 38,200 s/f of retail space with existing 8,000 s/f restaurant space. The AMC Lowes Harvard Sq. Theatre 5 closed its doors in July 2012. Originally built in 1925, Carpenter & Co. purchased the historic building and is currently reviewing plans to revitalize the 30,000 s/f of space. HallKeen Management is currently administering facility management to the structure while plans are underway to reinvent the building. "There's so much history behind the Harvard Square Theatre. It's been a staple for the neighborhood and we are excited to manage a little piece of Cambridge history," said Chad Boulay, director of commercial management for HallKeen. "As for South Shore Place, it's riveting to see the transformation from what the location once was, to what it is now. Our commitment to providing exceptional management is to the developers and tenants are our top priority and we are honored to work with Carpenter & Co. on these two facilities." HallKeen Management is based out of Norwood, and manages over 1.2 million s/f feet of office, industrial, retail and medical office space throughout Massachusetts.
