Groom Construction expands commercial division: Alvino named senior project manager and Vaks named project manager

Groom Construction Co. expanded its commercial division with two new project managers, Chris Alvino and Nick Vaks. Alvino, LEED AP has joined Groom as senior project manager. Alvino is an industry professional with over 18 years at Erland and PROCON. He will play a key role in the company's core markets of retail, commercial and multi-unit residential properties. Some highlighted past projects include: * Storrs Center in Mansfield, Conn. * Quail Run Apartment Complex in Stoughton, Mass., * Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn Hotels * Alvino is currently working on the $5 million 95,000 s/f conversion of a Home Depot to a BJ's Wholesale Club in Bangor, ME, Seasons of Danvers, a memory care facility and Penniman on the Park, a 36 unit apartment complex in Allston, Mass. Vaks has joined Groom as project manager after gaining experience during his 17 year career in both public and private projects with G. Greene Construction, CTA, Shawmut and Suffolk Construction. While at Groom he completed the Kiddie Academy in Burlington, Mass. which set the stage for Groom's award of several more facilities in various locations across the country. Vaks' current projects include: Partner's Healthcare Urgent Care Facilities, Preferred Retail Brokers Enfield, Conn. - ground-up construction and fit-out of two retail spaces (Starbucks and Vitamin Shoppe), and Architectural Fireplaces, an interior tenant fit-out.
