GE selects Suffolk Construction as construction manager for new Boston headquarters

Boston, MA GE has selected Suffolk Construction Company as construction manager for the development of GE’s new global headquarters.

Suffolk will provide pre-construction services related to the development of the new 12-story building on the campus. In this first phase, Suffolk will work closely with the project architect, Gensler, on refining and completing the design. In addition, Suffolk will develop the project timing, sequencing, logistics and cost. Once complete, construction of the new 295,000 s/f building will begin.

The selection of Suffolk came after a thorough evaluation of many local firms. “We’re excited to partner with a local firm as well-known and respected as Suffolk on this important project,” said Ann Klee, vice president, Boston development and operations for GE. “We are confident in their ability to deliver.”

“We are honored and privileged to partner with GE on the planning and construction of its new headquarters in the great City of Boston,” said John Fish, chairman and CEO, Suffolk. “Our team looks forward to implementing our unique ‘build smart’ approach and state-of-the-art technologies and processes to plan and construct this important building for one of the most innovative, forwarding-thinking companies in the world. We cannot wait to get started.”
