Boston, MA Peter Feinmann, president and founder of Feinmann, Inc. was awarded “Mentor of the Year” at Boston Design Week’s 2024 award celebration. Held on May 4, the event was hosted by the Boston Architectural College and sponsored by Shepley Bulfinch.

“Mentoring has been a powerful practice for me, and I truly appreciate this honor,” said Feinmann, “Just teach those in our industry, it’s so easy to do.”

Feinmann, Inc. is a design-build company that manages all aspects of the new construction and renovation processes inclusive of planning, architecture, interior design, construction, carpentry, and custom millwork. Peter Feinmann has streamlined the design-build process and has served as a design and construction leader for decades. Feinmann has been instrumental in defining the cost and control advantages of the design-build process while demonstrating creative and inspired solutions as evidenced by the firm’s award-winning projects that showcase both elegant design and quality craftsmanship. In 2024 alone, Feinmann, Inc. has been awarded 2024 Best of Boston Home’s High-End Home Remodeling, West; a Guildmaster Award for Service Excellence; National NARI CotY awards; and several Prism awards. With over 100 awards in all, Feinmann, Inc. has proven its philosophy of designing quality, high-end home projects within the parameters of the design-build process.

As a true mentor at heart, Peter Feinmann continues to share the practices that led to his own firm’s success. He has served as mentor of the PRO NE Mentorship Program designed to help emerging contractors to successfully navigate business growth in the remodeling industry. In 2023, he was distinguished with PRO NE Mentor of the Year Award. Peter has been an active mentor in the PRO NE Youth Remodeling Career Day where nearly 500 students and teachers from 17 schools around Mass. and R.I. learn about the range of careers within the remodeling industry and participate in mock interviews.

Having received the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from North Bennet Street School in Boston, Peter and his team continue to support the North Bennet Street’s Carpentry Program. Most recently he was interviewed for “Our Partners in Craft,” a program that recognizes businesses that support the school.

Working within an industry that is both stressful and deadline-oriented, Peter Feinmann, a life-long learner himself, became a Certified Teacher in Mindful Meditation. Especially beneficial during the pandemic, he continues to make the program, Mindful Directions, accessible to employees and industry professionals.

It has been the aspiration of Peter Feinmann to establish a legacy that would benefit the company long term, while rewarding the loyalty of its employees. In 2023, Feinmann, Inc. established the firm’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) whereby employees are co-owners of the company and everyone on the team is accountable for the successful design and construction of each client’s dream home.
