Boston, MA EYP Architecture & Engineering appointed Jason Olsen, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, to lead designer. For more than 15 years, his impressive design leadership and wealth of experience has served prominent clients nationwide in the educational, institutional, and commercial sectors. In response to EYP’s renewed growth and increasing client demand for high-performance design services, Olsen’s new role involves spearheading firm-wide design initiatives that support its overarching commitment to design excellence, and partnering with the firm’s design leadership and sector leaders on business development efforts.

EYP director of integrated design Richard Clarke, AIA, LEED AP BD+C said, “Jason’s extensive skills, ranging from programming and concept sketches to collaboration and technical execution, greatly expand EYP’s high-performance thought leadership in the Boston metro area and throughout the country.” He continued, “His strengths give EYP a clear competitive advantage, and he is at the forefront of our continued growth. This promotion is a celebration of his extraordinary design leadership.”

Olsen’s notable projects include the U.S. Department of State’s new U.S. Consulate compound, a 19-building complex on 50 acres; the $52-million renovation and expansion of Penn State’s historic Steidle Building; the renovation of 45,000 s/f of Luce Library at the Princeton Theological Seminary library, along with the creation of a sensitively scaled 91,000 s/f building addition; the renovation and addition of 48,000 s/f of flexible, technology-rich spaces at the Concordia College Offutt School of Business; and the $74 million, 113,000 s/f Integrated Science Center at the College of William & Mary, among others.

A registered architect in Massachusetts, Olsen received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Syracuse University.

His professional influence and project excellence has led to features in Building Green and Architect magazines. Active in architectural education and mentoring, Olsen taught thesis studio courses at the Boston Architectural College for five years. He also actively recruits and develops the nation’s top design talent for EYP in pursuit of integrating the next generation of architects, advanced design tools and productive technologies into the design process.
