EnviroVantage earns 2016 STEP Safety Award Gold level from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Mass.

Boston, MA EnviroVantage, one of New England’s largest environmental specialty contractor, has been awarded the highly prestigious 2016 STEP Safety Award, Gold level, from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Massachusetts.

The award is reflective of EnviroVantage’s unilateral dedication and commitment to job site safety practiced by its employees in the state of Mas. The company previously was awarded a STEP award for their safety record in Connecticut also.

“Job site safety is our A-Number 1 goal” said company owner Scott Knightly. “There is nothing more valuable that we have than the health and well-being of our employees. We face challenging work environments everyday given the line of work we participate in thus the need to be especially attentive to those challenges in advance and then to take whatever steps are needed to ensure the protection and the safety of our workers before it becomes a problem.”

STEP is an acronym for Safety, Training, Evaluation and Process and includes a 20-point guide for company safety. The program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. The award, established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety Committee, rewards construction companies that have shown the utmost care in analyzing and developing safety and loss prevention programs.

EnviroVantage Safety Officer Greg Mackey was especially proud of the award. “Gold is the standard bearer and to win this recognition by our peers shows that we take this very seriously and continually change with the times to be on the forefront of work place safety.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association with state and regional affiliates, representing nearly 21,000 chapter members.
