EDI completes Pan Athletic Center for Phillips Academy

Andover, MA Electrical Dynamics Inc (EDI) completed the Pan Athletic/Natatorium Center for Phillips Academy. The construction manager was Stamar, Inc. design and construction, athletic facility specialists. The project architect was Dimella Shaffer and the MEP/FP engineer was Rist-Frost-Shumway Engineering.

EDl’s scope of work included site electric and communications utilities, site exterior lighting, interior lighting, and control systems, switchgear/distribution equipment, feeder distribution, voice evacuation fire alarm system, bi-directional antenna system, area of refuge communications system and conduit raceway and wiring systems for the PV system array, lightning protection system, micro turbine, theatrical lighting and controls, telephone/data/security/CCTV systems, wrestling and natatorium scoreboard/timing systems.

The facility includes an Olympic size swimming pool with viewing area and features its own wrestling room, dance studios, training center with conditioning and training equipment and performance art theater. All the areas mentioned are surrounded by complimentary and attractive entrance lobbies, a Hall of Honor and seating lounges.

The backbone of the facility has two cogeneration turbines, provisions for solar power, a third turbine and an expansion of the main electric service for the addition of an attached future facility.

The new facility is scheduled for occupancy in early 2023.

EDI, established in 1991 is one of New England’s leading electrical contractors in the region.
