Doherty of Lila Delman Compass sells 'Honeysuckle Lodge' - $9.39 million

225 Ruggles Avenue - ‘Honeysuckle Lodge’ - Newport, R.I.

Newport, RI Lila Delman Compass continues to lead Rhode Island’s luxury real estate market with the record sale of ‘Honeysuckle Lodge’, 225 Ruggles Ave., for $9,391,635.  According to data maintained by the Rhode Island Statewide MLS, this transaction marks the highest sale in Newport County year-to-date.* Kimberly Doherty, sales associate for Lila Delman Compass’ Newport office, represented the buyer.

“I was honored to have the opportunity to steward such a prominent and historic property as ‘Honeysuckle Lodge’,” said Doherty. “Ideally located on the Cliff Walk this legacy property will be enjoyed by the next generation for years to come.”

“Properties located on the Cliff Walk do not come to market often”, said Kendra Toppa, Lila Delman Compass’ Newport County sales manager. “Over the past two years Lila Delman Compass has been fortunate to participate in the majority of Cliff Walk sales.”

‘Honeysuckle Lodge’ built circa 1886 is a unique waterfront offering sited on the city’s famed Cliff Walk. Designed by the esteemed architectural firm, Peabody & Stearns, the estate spans across 21 rooms, including 10 bedrooms, 9 full and 2 half baths, and over 10,000 s/f of living space. The two acres of private gated grounds, originally designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, include an in-ground pool and majestic open ocean views. The estate also includes a 4,000 s/f  carriage house with two apartments, a greenhouse and garage.
