Diversified Project Mgmt. retained by Akamai Tech. for headquarters renovation

Diversified Project Management, Inc. (DPM) has been retained by Akamai Technologies to manage a 20,000 s/f renovation at their corporate headquarters. Akamai, a global leader in internet technology, currently occupies several floors at Eight Cambridge Center. The company is undergoing a phased expansion, which will result in the occupation of the entire building, as well as four to five additional floors at Four Cambridge Center. The second phase of renovations included the fifth floor of Eight Cambridge Center, which was occupied this month. The project included demotion and reuse of some existing space and renovations of 20,000 s/f, including offices, moveable workstations, conference rooms, computer labs, a break room and elevator lobby. All phases and renovated floors will be seeking LEED Gold or Silver Certification. "When the first phase of our project completed successfully last year, we had no doubt that Diversified would continue to deliver outstanding project management services for our company," said Brian Murray, director of global facilities for Akamai. "DPM stays on top of all the details and open issues so that nothing falls through the cracks." DPM has managed renovation projects for a number of high tech corporations including Acme Packet, L-1 Identity Solutions, Nuance, Red Hat and many others.
