DiPrete Engineering completes 265,000 s/f building at new NEIT campus

The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) has expanded its locations with a 220-acre campus that features a remodeled 265,000 s/f building as its centerpiece. The new location is a multi-phased project that may eventually include student housing, dining services, and sports facilities. "The East Greenwich site is intended to feel more like a traditional college campus," said Nicole Reilly, a senior project manager at DiPrete Engineering. "As the project develops, we'll continue to use our expertise to advise the client on the timing of permitting, construction, and utility coordination for the best possible results." To date, DiPrete Engineering has worked on siting, connectivity, and pedestrian access for NEIT's new campus. The firm has also assisted with stormwater design, including infiltration, bioretention, low impact design, and enhanced water quality treatment. In addition, DiPrete Engineering completed town and state permitting, including the pre-application, master plan, and zoning updates for East Greenwich. DiPrete also worked to obtain Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) formal wetlands permits and coordinated with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) on off-site projects to support future campus improvements.
