DiGiorgio Associates provides services for Manet Community Health Center renovation

DiGiorgio Associates Inc. (DAI) worked with Manet Community Health Center to renovate their 10 W Squantum St. location through a patient-centered medical home model of care (PCMHM). Project goals were to improve the patient experience, alleviate scheduling stressors, address facility related issues, ensure patient satisfaction and improve operational functions. Columbia Construction Co. was the contractor. As you enter the 13,000 s/f center, patients are greeted at a kiosk and directed toward their care provider. On the first and second floors, to join the existing family medicine center, the center for older adults and a pharmacy were incorporated. The third floor houses the administrative offices. The complete renovation of these levels now houses the center for primary care in public housing, vision and specialty services. The common corridor is the "connector" to the community of services and will allow for private sub-waiting areas. On the exterior, DAI worked with Manet to incorporate the re-branding efforts of the organization. The result of this innovative design is a community health center that enhances the experience of patients and caregivers while ensuring operational efficiency and optimal facility performance. The newly renovated Manet Community Health Center is warm, inviting and safe, with key drivers determined by focus groups in the programming phase. This healing environment will address patient comfort with wayfinding, healing art, privacy, dignity and provider communication in a safe, secure environment. The planning process used principles of lean process management in the clinical zones and evidence based design throughout the center. The Nexpansion will allow for additional space and services for 5,250 additional patients with 26 new exam rooms added to the existing 18. As a PCMHM, Manet will add services for behavioral health, a center for older adults, a center for primary care in public housing, visions services and an on site 340B pharmacy. Construction for this project was completed in late September, 2014. DAI is a full-service healthcare architectural, engineering and interior design firm founded in 1984. DAI is very proud to have collaborated with Manet Community Health Center on this project to help serve the South Shore community well into the future.
