Decade Q&A - William Gray

William Gray, AIA, is principal of Vision 3 Architects, Providence What is your most memorable career experience from the past decade (2000-2009)? * Winning the commission in 2007 to design a new, 400,000 s/f world headquarters building for an internationally known and respected insurance company, was special. Then, to be part of the team that delivered the project from design to occupancy in twenty-four months, and have it qualify for USGBC LEED Gold Certification...it's been a hugely important, and most memorable, experience for me and our entire company. What major event(s) do you predict for the commercial real estate industry this decade (2010-2019)? * Over the next ten years, I predict that many yet to be evident, but significant, ramifications of current government spending policies, and our astronomically high national debt, will severely hinder our ability to climb out of this recession and put the commercial real estate industry back on its feet. Individuals and companies that are creative, innovative problem solvers for business and industry will rule!
