CRL-U.S. Aluminum plays defining role in redevelopment of the Glendale Galleria

CRL-U.S. Aluminum's (C.R. Laurence Co., Inc) premium products have played a role in the large-scale 1.5 million s/f redevelopment of the Glendale Galleria. The project's integration of CRL architectural systems resulted in a functional, yet modern transformation. Designed by ELS Architecture and Urban Design in partnership with Kevin Kennon Architects, the Glendale Galleria has been refreshed from its outdated 1976 design. CRL's extensive glass railing systems, sliding operable storefronts, "all glass" entrances, panic devices, curtain walls, and point-supported structural glass elevator encasements can be found throughout the entire project. These products are designed and engineered to provide both a cosmetic update, and to ensure that the shopping center can withstand the traffic of 10+ million visitors every year. CRL TAPER-LOC Frameless Glass Railings Nearly a mile length of CRL's impressive TAPER- LOC Frameless Glass Railing lines the entire second floor of the retail center's modern interior, offering unobstructed views and improved visibility of the lower and upper level shops. This patented, award-winning system reduces installation times by 50%, and is the first and only ICC-approved glass railing system (ESR-3269). CRL-U.S. Aluminum Elephant Doors The Series E1200 Elephant Door System is a sliding/pivoting storefront that features operable sections of swinging entrance doors that are adaptable to different situations. They provided the perfect solution for the design team's obstacle with specifying the front entrances, where traditional wall pockets were not a feasible option. CRL-U.S. Aluminum met the challenge head-on and built a custom Elephant Door System that was A.D.A. compliant, durable, secure, and striking in appearance. CRL-U.S. Aluminum Curtain Wall System One of the exciting additions and centerpieces of the project, the Bloomingdale's store, uses CRL-U.S. Aluminum's Series 3250 Curtain Wall System on its building front. This economical, strong, and highly versatile exterior glazed system is thermally improved for greater performance. The Glendale Galleria renovation project serves as an example of excellent collaboration between CRL-U.S. Aluminum, the architects, contractors, and property management team. This project showcases C.R. Laurence's strong ability to deliver quality single-source solutions for a major commercial renovation with a wide variety of products, like those that fit the modern aesthetic and time table for the Glendale Galleria project. Project Details: Glendale Galleria, Glendale California Applications: Mall Renovation, including Entries, Interior Glass Railing, Elevator Façades, and Building Envelope Specifications: CRL-U.S. Aluminum Series E1200 Elephant Doors, Series 3250 Curtain Wall, Series 400 Entrance Doors, Wedge-Lock Door Rail System, Blumcraft PA100 Series Panic Handles, TAPER-LOC Glass Railing System + Handrail, Point-Supported Spider Fittings.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
