Best New Workplace Large Renovation >50,000 s/f Havas/Arnold Worldwide Boston Headquarters: Recognized for selecting a neighborhood, and a building, with rich history, and in so doing, fueling its revitalization. As the anchor tenant in the iconic 1912 Daniel Burnham Filene's Building in Downtown Crossing, Arnold and its four other Havas brands occupy 125,000 s/f. Intent on rethinking space and real estate holdings, the entire staff went to bench seating, reducing square footage needs by over a quarter. A collaborative design effort between Architect, Developer, and employees is worthy of note as it created a win-win for Havas, as well as, future tenants. Small Renovation <50,000SF Fidelity Investments: Redefining 245 Summer Street: Recognized for bringing into alignment its headquarters building with its best in class customer experience aspiration - Fidelity set out to not only alter the customer perceptions but that of employees while purposefully "curating" an experience that could be replicated across their portfolio. 3,000 employees and 1,000 visitors daily now efficiently move through the building. The centralization of "The Hub," which includes: Health and Wellness, IT Guru Bar, concierge services, and mobile work center increased visibility and usage. Best New Construction Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building: Dudley Sq., once a thriving urban district, it had experienced decades of decline. The late mayor Menino envisioned a revitalization of the historic neighborhood, whose transformation is being facilitated, in large part, by the relocation of the Boston Public Schools, 215,000 s/f headquarters, at the site of the Ferdinand Furniture Store. This entirely new facility, which supports 500 employees, incorporates the historic facades of The Ferdinand, Curtis, and Waterman Buildings, engaging the community with ground level retail to support neighborhood needs. The open office environment, which was displayed in mock-up form at City Hall prior to its installation, supports BPS's vision for transparency, and encourages and welcomes parents to participate. The offices have become a City of Boston standard. Leadership Award Winners End User Leadership: Global Real Estate Executive George Conti, vice president international real estate at Iron Mountain: By challenging business operational rationale, standardizing business strategy and implementation, hiring and training Project Director's globally, George is positively impacting the internal experience at Iron Mountain and its bottom line. A coach and advisor, both in his personal and professional communities, George's mentorship of young people is to be commended. End User Leadership: The Americas Suzanne Leblanc, director of real estate and facilities, Dassault Systèmes: Recognized for her transformational leadership abilities, Leblanc took on the management of more than 50 sites, comprising 800,000 s/f, negotiated 10 new leases and divested the company of 19 locations during her 18 month tenure. She is heralded for her authenticity, emotional intelligence, empathy and inclusion and support of her team. Her approach brings results. Service Provider Leadership: Global Real Estate Executive Monica Juan, Global Corporate Services, CBRE: Juan's success can, be attributed in part to, the old adage "All politics is local". She brings a deep knowledge of the corporate real estate community's, issues, trends and challenges to her role. This understanding allows her to guide and influence her clients, in complex decision making including; enhancement of overall delivery model and services, project management, talent sourcing and management, regulatory compliance and more. With more than 70MSF under her supervision, she has achieved trusted advisor status with a Who's Who in the arenas of finance, technology, and publishing. This status extends to those she mentors through CBRE's formal program: Empower, through programs at CBRE University, and at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Service Provider Leadership: The Americas Tara Martin, associate principal/director of client services, Dyer Brown Architects: Serving as project facilitator on key accounts, Tara helps clients make decisions that meet short and long-term business objectives. A decade of experience working directly for clients, informs her perspective, and understanding of the importance of inclusion of disparate departments in the planning, and design process. Ultimately, this holistic approach contributes to successful outcomes and long-term relationships. Tara's style, skill, and demeanor provide a strong, and competent example for men and woman.
