Connolly Brothers completes partial restoration of the first floor and basement of the Turner Hill's mansion

Connolly Brothers has recently completed the partial restoration of Turner Hill's 1903 Elizabethan-style mansion. These renovations are in addition to the new construction that Connolly completed in 2003 of a golf clubhouse and pro shop facility for Turner Hill. The renovations occurred both in the first floor link that connects the golf clubhouse to the mansion and in the basement of the mansion. Added amenities on the first floor included a catering kitchen, expansion of the existing clubhouse kitchen, toilet room facilities, and the Proctor Fine Dining Restaurant and Bar with a temperature and humidity controlled wine cellar. The basement renovations included a full service gym and the complete restoration of an existing two lane bowling alley. As a part of the restoration project, Connolly added a digitally controlled mechanical system to heat and cool the mansion's basement and first floors. It was a complicated undertaking to skillfully route ductwork and locate equipment around 18" thick masonry walls and original wood framed floors, but the construction was successfully completed in under four months. The project manager for Connolly, Derrick Seitz, worked diligently with Turner Hill's president, Bob Talbot, throughout the project to minimize disturbance to not only the club members but to also protect the ornate woodwork and period furniture throughout the mansion. The architect, John Olson, of Olson Lewis Dioli & Doktor Architects and Planners Inc., provided valuable input helping to maintain and enhance the original design esthetic of the mansion while complying with current codes. In addition to the club's golf membership, Turner Hill is now offering two additional membership options. The Mansion Club Membership allows for the unlimited use of all amenities on site with limited use of the golf course while the Dinner Club Membership allows for unlimited use of the restaurants with limited use of the golf course.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
