Chestnut Hill Realty wins 3 awards at Rental Housing Association conference

Chestnut Hill Realty (CHR), a full-service real estate company specializing in multifamily housing, has won three awards at the annual Rental Housing Association (RHA) fall Conference. This year, CHR captured the following awards: * Maintenance Supervisor of the Year: The Maintenance Supervisor award went to Patricia Scolly, who oversees maintenance operations for three of CHR's apartment portfolios in Brookline, Brighton and Cambridge comprising 702 units. Scolly is committed to delivering the highest levels of customer service, and has been known to go above and beyond to assist residents and help resolve maintenance issues. She is always looking for ways to improve her knowledge and skills and that of the staff that reports to her. Her diverse scope of duties includes communicating with contractors and managing costs related to capital budget projects. * Maintenance Mechanic: The Maintenance Mechanic Award went to Mynor Arevalo, a maintenance technician at Hancock Village Apartments in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Hancock Village is the company's largest single property, with 789 apartment units. Arevalo understands that requests for both routine and emergency repairs can happen at any time of the day or night, and brings a high level of professionalism and care to his work. His supervisor describes Arevalo as having a positive attitude, calm demeanor, and always ready to pitch in wherever he's needed. * Community of Excellence - Apartment Community Over 20 Years Old: Norwood Gardens Apartments in Norwood, Mass., received the Apartment Community Over 20 Years Old Award. CHR acquired Norwood Gardens in 1983 and has been making significant and transformative reinvestments in the property for decades. Of the 344 units at the property, 12 units are brand new and another 309 units have been tastefully updated with upgraded finishes and appliances. In 2012 a clubhouse/amenity center was completed, along with a new swimming pool, tennis court and putting green, enhancing the resort-like atmosphere at the property. The professional staff is attentive to residents' needs, and takes extra care in making sure that Norwood Gardens is a great place to call home. Each month the staff hosts four resident events, such as movie night on the lawn and a school supply drive to benefit local elementary schools, to build relationships and promote a sense of community. "CHR had another excellent showing at the Rental Housing Association conference this year," said David Risko, vice president of the property management division at Chestnut Hill Realty. "All of us at CHR are proud of their achievements as individuals and teams. They epitomize the level of professionalism we all strive for, and are truly an inspiration for all of us." RHA, a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, represents owners and managers of some 100,000 multifamily units across Mass., and gives Professional Achievement Awards and Communities of Excellence Awards every year. Risko said that CHR received five RHA awards last year, and four awards in 2012. The awards ceremony was held during the RHA's annual conference at Boston's Hynes Convention Center. Chestnut Hill Realty is one of New England's leading residential real estate companies, specializing in multifamily housing. Established in 1969, CHR owns and manages more than 4,500 units in 27 apartment home communities in Greater Boston and Rhode Island.
