Callahan Construction Managers completes Benchmark Senior Living property in Woburn

Woburn, MA Callahan Construction Managers (Callahan) has completed its second of three assisted living projects with Benchmark Senior Living at 1 Cedar St.

The 73,000 s/f senior housing project includes a total of 87 apartments that consist of 20 memory care units, which provide a variety of services for those with Alzheimer’s and other illnesses that cause memory impairment, as well as 67 assisted living units, which contain individual bathrooms, kitchenettes and living spaces. Benchmark properties also feature amenities for residents that include a commercial kitchen, dining area with bistro, library, spa, dentist’s office, common area living rooms, exercise rooms, computer room, arts and craft room, beauty salon, commercial laundry, landscaped grounds, courtyard and walking path with pergola.

Callahan was selected as the project’s construction management firm, following the recent successful completion of Benchmark Senior Living at Split Rock in Shelton, Conn. Callahan is also nearing completion of its third project with Benchmark Senior Living in Norwood, Mass.

Working in collaboration with the architectural team of JSA Architects, the assisted living complex began construction in May of 2015 and took 13 months to complete.
