The groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 9th.

“We are very excited to once again be partnering with Northbridge Companies on what we believe will be an extremely successful senior living facility,” said Patrick Callahan, president of Callahan. “The Mariner is the first and only senior living community in Marblehead and we are thrilled to be able to bring this project to life and give seniors a top-tier option on the North Shore.”

The Mariner captures Marblehead’s charm with lifestyle options that fit a range of retiree and senior needs.?The New England colonial-style development will be built atop a 4.5-acre hillside on Pleasant Street and will offer walking paths, sitting areas, patios, and gardens. The Mariner will also offer a variety of services, activities, and amenities for residents, including a full-service restaurant, private dining, lounge, café, living rooms, beauty salon, health and wellness room, library, and movie theater. The facility’s ground floor will provide an area for those with memory care needs, while the first and second floors offer a combination of apartments including assistance options.

Callahan has extensive experience working on high-end assisted living communities across Massachusetts and The Mariner is just the latest example. It is Callahan’s seventh project with The Northbridge Companies and second with EGA Architects. The project is scheduled for a February 2023 completion.
