Callahan awarded gold level Safety Training and Evaluation Process

The National Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) recently presented Callahan Construction with a Gold Level Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) award, the fifth consecutive year that the company has earned this honor. The award, which highlights safety measures taken in the workplace, was presented to Callahan at the Gould Construction Institute's Safety and Education celebration, held recently at the Montvale Plaza. "Every day we are committed to ensuring the safety of our employees and subcontractors," said Steve O'Reilly, safety officer at Callahan. "Receiving this award reaffirms our commitment to always maintaining a safe and secure work area, and reminds us that it must be a priority in everything we do." Established by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, the World Class STEP merit program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. The Gold Level status demonstrates Callahan's dedication and commitment to job site safety, as practiced by its employees and subcontractors. "We are proud of our company's commitment to safety and the recognition we have received on behalf of all our employees," said O'Reilly. To apply for the STEP program, Callahan had to go through an application process and a 20 key component assessment and evaluation. STEP is a safety benchmarking and improvement tool established by the national Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) in 1989. In order to be presented with a STEP award, a company must consistently excel in the field of safety and provide reliable evaluation tools to ensure their employees are not in danger.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
