BOMA International elects 2010-2011 officers: Mackey elected chair and CEO

The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected its 2010-2011 officers at the BOMA International Conference and The Every Building Show, held June 27th - 29th. The Board of Governors of BOMA International elected Ray Mackey, Jr., RPA, CPM, CCIM, partner and chief operating officer at Stream Realty Partners, L.P., BOMA/Dallas as chair and chief elected officer for 2010-2011. Other officers elected were: *Chair-elect Boyd R. Zoccola, executive vice president, Hokanson Companies Inc., BOMA/Indianapolis; *Vice chair Joseph Markling, managing director of strategic accounts, asset services, CB Richard Ellis, Inc., BOMA/Greater Los Angeles; and *Secretary/treasurer Kent Gibson, CPM, vice president, Property Reserve Inc., BOMA/Utah. In his position as chief operating officer at Stream Realty, Mackey has helped to grow Stream's leasing and management portfolio from 750,000 s/f of commercial space to more than 60 million s/f in six major markets throughout the southwest, southeast and west coast areas. Before joining Stream Realty in 1999, Mackey worked for Trammell Crow Co., Rostland Property Management Co., Texas Instruments and served with the United States Air Force. Mackey has been a BOMA member since 1984. He has served as president of Dallas BOMA, director of the Texas BOMA Board of Directors and president of Texas BOMA. He has been active in numerous committees at BOMA International, chairing the education committee, the education advisory council, the nominating committee, the reinventing major meetings task force and the BOMA 360 Performance Program Council. He has also served two terms on the BOMA International executive committee. Zoccola has spent 20 years in commercial real estate, including roles owning, operating and developing real estate. He has been involved in BOMA International in a variety of capacities, both on the local and international levels. He served for four years on the BOMA International executive committee and six years on the finance committee. He has also been active in BOMA´s medical office buildings committee. He served as president of BOMA/Indianapolis from 2007-2009. Zoccola joined Hokanson Companies Inc. in 1989. In his role as executive vice president, he focuses the majority of his efforts in the area of development and has been intimately involved in the development of more than $300 million of real estate. He is an Indiana Real Estate Principal Broker. Markling is the immediate past chairman of BOMA / Greater Los Angeles, after serving three years as chairman of the board. Prior to his terms as chairman, he served on the executive board and was chairman of the government affairs committee. He is also involved with BOMA/California and recently served a two year term on BOMA International's executive committee. As managing director with CB Richard Ellis's Asset Services / Strategic Accounts Group, he oversees the RREEF account, the largest Strategic Account within CB Richard Ellis, encompassing nearly 70 million s/f of office and industrial property located nationwide. He has held senior positions at CBRE Investors and Lowe Enterprises Investors over his more than 30 years in commercial real estate. Gibson has more than 25 years of industry experience. In his role as vice president of Property Reserve Inc., he oversees commercial real estate in several states and in most product types. He has chaired the BOMA International Audit Committee and the Standard Floor Measurement Committee, and has also served on the BOMA International Finance Committee and the Government Affairs Committee. Gibson has contributed to several BOMA floor measurement standards, including Office Buildings: Standard Methods of Measurement (ANSI/BOMA Z65.1-2010) and Gross Area of a Building: Standard Methods of Measurement (ANSI/BOMA Z65.3-2010). He also served as president of BOMA/Utah.
