BOMA International Conference update & local TOBY Awards update

The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) awards took place this past week, June 24-26, at the Every Building Conference & Expo held in Seattle. These awards provide an international level of recognition for the best BOMA buildings that have won at the local and regional levels. Five BOMA Boston buildings advanced to this conference to be considered for awards. Although none ended up claiming an International TOBY Award, advancing as far as these buildings did speaks to the high standard of commitment and performance these building owners and managers hold themselves to in all aspects of their work. With that being said, congratulations to the following: * 75 State St., Brookfield Properties; * The Newbry, CBRE-N.E.; * 53 State St., Lincoln Property Company; * New England Executive Park, Equity Office Properties; and * 225 Franklin St., Equity Office Properties. Even though the International TOBY Awards are wrapped up, the local TOBY awards are closer than you think! Call for entries are going to open up earlier than last year, during the second week of this month. This will allow applicants even more time to perfect their submissions. BOMA Boston will also be holding a TOBY Awards Tutorial on Wednesday, July 25th, at the BOMA office (One Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite) to give applicants a leg-up on the application process, including guest speakers who were former International TOBY Awards Finalists, and an International Judge. Visit www.bomaboston.org for more details and to register for this valuable event!
