BOMA Boston update: Golf Cup Tournament and Harpoon Brewery Tour

On Monday, July 13, over 300 golfers braved the heat and participated in this year's BOMA Golf Cup Tournament at Pine Hills Country Club in Plymouth, Mass. Tournament participants enjoyed a full day of golf with great food, networking, and prizes. New additions to the tournament this year included ice cream sundaes provided by Ben & Jerry's and hand-rolled cigars from the Boston Cigar Factory. Also featured in this year's tournament was a hole-in-one contest, which allowed guests the chance to win a backyard putting green worth $10,000, provided by Crowley's Concepts. At the conclusion of the tournament, a large crowd gathered around the clubhouse putting green for a chance to win a prize in this year's putting contest. BOMA Boston would like to thank the 2015 Golf Tournament sponsors, without which, the tournament would not be possible, especially DTZ, the Tournament Sponsor. The BOMA Boston Engineering Committee hosted a tech tour of the Harpoon Brewery on Thursday, July 23. The event included a full-facility tour and an exclusive look at the CHP Plant. Immediately following the tour, attendees gathered in the Harpoon Beer Hall for some fresh brews, homemade pretzels, and networking. Stay tuned, as the BOMA Engineering Committee is busy planning their next adventure! On Thursday, August 20, BOMA Boston will hold a Tour of the 2013 Earth TOBY Winner: the Federal Reserve Plaza, in lieu of the upcoming TOBY & Industry Awards season. The Federal Reserve Plaza is a class A, LEED Gold certified, 33 story high rise and an icon on the Boston skyline. The tour will include a behind-the-scenes look of the building's central mechanical space, roof top garden, and views from the harbor view dining room. The tour will also provide insights on the do's and don'ts for your own TOBY Building Tour. Don't miss out on this special opportunity to tour a TOBY winner! Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
