BOMA Boston’s Annual TOBY & Industry Awards and holiday party

2019 Industry Leader of the Year at last months TOBY & Industry Awards.

Boston, MA Last month, BOMA Boston hosted their Annual TOBY & Industry Awards at the Marriott Copley Place for their largest TOBY & Industry Awards to date. Over 600 commercial real estate professionals and guests gathered to celebrate the best in brightest in the industry. BOMA Boston recognized nine buildings and ten industry awards. One of the many recognized, Stephen Wessling, president and CEO of Wessling Architects was awarded the Industry Leader of the Year Award for his many accomplishments and BOMA Boston thanks him for his many contributions to BOMA. Wessling Architects was the Platinum Sponsor of the TOBY & Industry Awards and has been for the last few years. 

The winners of The Outstanding Building of the Year Awards (TOBYS) will be moving on to the regional conference in Albany, NY in the spring, and from there potentially to the International Competition in Philadelphia in June. In July 2021 the BOMA International Conference will be held in Boston! 

In July BOMA Boston volunteered at Bridge Over Troubled Waters,
BOMA’s Charitable Partner. They also hosted a gift card drive
benefiting them at the Holiday Happy Hour.

On December 5th, BOMA wrapped up the year with the Annual Holiday Happy Hour in Downtown Boston. This event was exclusive to BOMA members and had a charitable giving component benefiting BOMA’s Charitable Partner, Bridge Over Troubled Waters. 

Join BOMA for the annual ski trip at Loon Mountain on January 24th, 2020. Hit the slopes with over 50 BOMA members and friends at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire with an all-day ski lift ticket or an activity pass, including snow shoeing, tubing, skating, zip line, cross country skiing. This event will begin with breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by lunch at 12:00 p.m. and ending with an après ski reception at 3:00 p.m.  

BOMA will be hosting a Roundtable this January featuring a few TOBY & Industry Awards winners sharing their experiences and discussing property management excellence. More information will be on www.bomaboston.org shortly!    

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations, or PAC or PMFP certifications. The next course, BOMI Law & Risk Management, will take place the mornings of January 15th, 22nd, 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, and March 4th. The course will be instructed by Barry Familetto with Stetson Management and Development and will be taking place at Alexandria Real Estate in Cambridge.

The industrial markets have never been stronger. What has happened is that the build out of Devens with new high-tech biotech manufacturing with housing to service these buildings serves as the connector required to really make the I-495 West market sizzle. Worcester has been the beneficiary
