BOMA Boston raises over $40,000 for four local beneficiaries
On Thursday, May 14, BOMA Boston hosted a check presentation for the 4 local beneficiaries recognized at this year's 26th Annual BOMA Benefit in March. Over $40,000 was awarded to this year's beneficiaries. The BOMA Benefit is an annual fundraiser, this year raising money on behalf of Cardinal Cushing Centers, Cradles to Crayons, Father Bill's & MainSpring, and Heading Home, with special recognition to BINA Farm Center.
On Tuesday, May 19 BOMA Boston held a roundtable featuring Scott Sidman, CRE Technology Evangelist, senior vice president, Building Engines, Inc. Sidman expanded upon the key drivers for increased CRE Technology use, investment, and dependence. He also discussed fundamental considerations in evaluating new platforms/providers of technology, while sharing statistical examples of trends in investment and availability of platforms over the last four years. The BOMA Boston Engineering Committee is busy planning events for the summer. On Friday, June 19, BOMA Boston will host a tech tour of Digital Realty's Data Center in Needham. Bill Bentley and Greg Moulton of Digital Realty will be guiding the tour, which will include a behind-the-scenes look at their cooling shafts, UPS rooms, CRAH gallery, generator room, and point of prescience (POP) room. Members and non-members are welcome to attend.
The BOMA Boston Engineers will also host a tour of Harpoon Brewery on Thursday, July 23, which will include a behind-the-scenes look at their facility and CHP Plant. Immediately following the tour, there will be a networking reception in Harpoon Brewery's Beer Hall.
Join them on Tuesday, June 23 for their June Networking Nite. This bi-monthly event draws a crowd of commercial industry professionals for networking and cocktails at a local Boston bar. Networking Nites are free for BOMA Boston members, and non-members are welcome to attend at the low price of $20. This month's Networking Nite will be held at 5 Napkin Burger, 105 Huntington Ave. in Boston from 5:30-7 p.m. and you won't want to miss it!
