BOMA Boston hosts its annual Fishing Tournament on June 6

Boston, MA On Monday, June 6 BOMA Boston hosted their annual Fishing Tournament out of Rowes Wharf. With over 130 participants, 23 boats, and picture perfect weather the day was certainly a success. Participants gathered at The Daily Catch following their fishing trip for a lunch reception and awards ceremony. Winners from the tournament include:

• Gregg Laufersweiler, Stanley Elevator Company – Grand Prize Largest Fish (48”, 42.2 lbs.);

• Matt McQuillen, Schindler Elevator – Runner Up (Male);

• Karen Haley, Boston MFA – Runner Up (Female);

• Stanley Elevator Company – Most Fish Caught (11 fish, totaling 165 lbs.).

BOMA Hosts Roundtable on NFPA 241 Code Requirements

On Tuesday, June 21 BOMA Boston held a roundtable featuring Andy Shanahan, project director, Howe Engineers, Inc. Shanahan expanded upon the direct impact new Massachusetts State Fire Codes have on building owners and managers. The discussion centralized around the requirements seen in the NFPA 241 Construction Fire Safety Plans and new requests for testing/maintenance on existing building smoke control and stair pressurization systems. BOMA Annual Trolley Tour Moves to Cambridge

On Wednesday, June 15, the BOMA Emerging Professionals committee hosted a Trolley Tour of the developing Kendall Sq. district in Cambridge. Members and non-member boarded two trolleys for a committee-member and broker-led tour of the area. The tour began with a walking tour of 101 Main St. and the surrounding amenities. The BOMA Boston Golf Cup Tournament will take place on Monday, July 11 at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth. This annual tournament includes a full day of golfing, breakfast, lunch, and a late-afternoon reception following the tournament. Sponsorship and other opportunities are still available.
