BOMA Boston 100th Anniversary – Celebrate with them March 23

BOMA February Roundtable

On Tuesday, February 28, BOMA Boston hosted a Roundtable program: Leasing – How to Make a Deal; featuring Larry Lenrow, COO, The Davis Companies. Lenrow led an interactive and lively scenario-based discussion on challenges, understanding a prospect’s needs, and negotiation of a lease covenant. The February Roundtable sponsor was 24 Restore.

BOMA Upcoming Events:

Spring is right around the corner and BOMA Boston has many great programs coming up.

On Thursday, March 16, BOMA Boston will host a LEED Green Associates Workshop to help prepare attendees for the LEED v4 exam. Instructed by the Sustainability Investment Group, this program is designed for property managers, building engineers, contractors, asset managers, architects and anyone looking to get a GA designation. The course will cover the key components of the LEED rating system, LEED building strategies and three exam areas (recognition, analysis and application). The program will be held at the BOMA Offices from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Interested in learning more about BOMA International’s 360 Building Designation? On Tuesday, April 4 BOMA Boston will be hosting a free lunch seminar on the 360 Designation process. Each quarter, an increasing number of property management firms are seeing the value of having the BOMA 360 stamp of excellence, as it enhances the ability to compete for tenants and demonstrate that assets are being properly managed. Over 1,500 BOMA 360 designations have been awarded since 2009 nationally. The discussion will be facilitated by Joel Corley, BOMA 360 director, BOMA International from 12 - 1 p.m. at the BOMA offices.

On Tuesday, April 4 the BOMA emerging professionals will hold their 8th Annual Trivia Night at Central Wharf Co., 160 Milk St. BOMA members and non-members are encouraged to attend to test their industry, sports and pop culture knowledge for a friendly competition. Both individual and team registrations are available. Trivia Night will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

BOMA International Updates

The 2017 BOMA International Conference and Expo will be held on June 24 - 27 in Nashville. In addition to a great expo, educational sessions, keynote sessions and networking opportunities, the conference concludes with the International TOBY Awards, on Tuesday, June 27, BOMA Boston will have a few buildings up for the highly coveted TOBY Award.

Also at the TOBY Awards dinner, BOMA Boston past president, past GBREB chairman Rob Brierley with Colliers International will be sworn in as chairman of BOMA International for 2017-2018. They hope BOMA Boston will be well represented at the conference.
