Black Bear Coatings & Concrete is a partner you can trust. Our experts have over 30 years of industry experience designing, installing, repairing, and maintaining concrete floors.

Our comprehensive approach is all-encompassing. We recognize that selecting the correct resinous coatings must be defined by the performance of materials in a specific space. Black Bear takes the time to work with clients to understand the environmental conditions of each particular area. This typically entails evaluating substrate condition, any chemical exposure, impact and wear resistance, thermal shock, and even the aesthetics of a space to enhance the overall atmosphere.

A look at The Black Bear process

Testing: It’s critical to identify and address any underlying issues that may present challenges or compromise a flooring solution. Black Bear experts conduct extensive testing of existing concrete surfaces to create the best approach for prep and resurfacing construction.

Site Preparation: Existing concrete or substrates need to be properly primed before any type of resurfacing project using polymers or coatings. We meticulously clean, roughen/profile and repair all defects to ensure your concrete is ready for resurfacing and will provide optimum foundation for your new floors.

Coatings & Overlays: Black Bear helps you select and design the appropriate coating(s) to provide a stronger, longer-lasting concrete surface. Our process includes getting to know the space and how it will be used to determine factors that could impact the integrity of the product. We reverse engineer a solution which results in a more stable, trustworthy product.

Sealer & Maintenance: Proper protection and maintenance of a coating or new concrete surface will extend the life of your flooring. Black Bear applies the appropriate sealant to help you maintain the flooring for years to come.

Compliance: With so many of our clients required to adhere to state and federal regulations, Black Bear has extensive experience engineering floors that are safe and compliant. Our experts work closely with OSHA, FDA, USDA, EPA, local agencies and with each client to ensure that flooring meets and often exceeds necessary standards.
