ASIS-Boston Chairperson's message: Welcome 2008

I am honored to lead the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Boston Chapter this year and look forward to working with the chapter volunteer leaders to ensure a successful year for our members and the organizations they support. It is always an exciting year but even more so this year as the chapter celebrates its 50th anniversary. As real estate owners, developers and managers you have a vested interest in planning for and/or managing a security program that is a combination of security systems and personnel. The chapter will be offering security education and training programs that will help with this responsibility. Topics being considered include "Background Checks," "Return on Investment," "Measuring for Success," "Metrics," "Data Tracking," and "Information Security/Conversion." This will be accomplished through a combination of monthly meetings, quarterly seminars, virtual forums, and most importantly the annual (New England's largest) "Security Expo" with 90 security exhibitors displaying state of the art security technology and outstanding keynote speakers. I look forward to seeing you at one or all of the chapter activities. You can find specific details about the chapter, meeting date and location, speaker and topics on our website www.asis-boston.org Give me a call (617) 724-5938 or send me an email pwstewart@partners.org if you have any questions and/or would like additional information. On behalf of the ASIS Boston chapter, I wish you a safe and prosperous new year. Philip Stewart is the 2008 chairperson for the Boston chapter of ASIS, Boston, Mass.
