ADD Inc and Archstone honored with 2008 NAHB's Pillars of Industry Award for Best High-Rise Apartment design

ADD Inc, a nationally recognized architecture and design firm, along with the owner and property manager, Archstone, recently garnered a top award at the prestigious 2008 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Pillars of Industry Awards. The team secured the award for Best High-Rise Apartment for their work on Archstone Boston Common. The award was presented at a ceremony in conjunction with NAHB's annual conference for apartment and condo developers. Recognized as the multifamily housing industry's most coveted awards, the NAHB Pillars Awards honors superior achievements in apartment and condo design, development, marketing, and management and is considered a showcase of future trends and innovation. "The entire team is honored to receive such a prestigious award recognizing Archstone Boston Common," said Frederick Kramer, president of ADD Inc. "We are delighted and proud that our building has been selected to be honored with this award given the competitive market we are in," said Karl Trieschman, Archstone Group vice president. ADD Inc was responsible for the planning, architecture and interior design of Archstone Boston Common, a 28-story high-density rental housing community located in downtown Boston. The 420-unit high-rise, built by Suffolk Construction, offers residents 24 hour concierge service, an indoor lap pool, and fitness center. Fifteen-foot setbacks located at various levels of the building allowed ADD Inc to maintain the scale of the historic streets, while maximizing potential views from the units' bay windows and balconies.
