Acentech's Huff contributes to the new ANSI standard for AV systems design and coordination processes

Acentech Inc., a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary acoustics, audiovisual systems design, and vibration consulting firm, is proud to announce that Brian Huff, CTS-D, ISF-C, LEED AP, a supervisory consultant in the firm's Systems Group, served as moderator of the InfoComm Task Group that developed the latest ANSI/INFOCOMM 2M-2010 Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes, recently approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as InfoComm's second standard. The purpose of this standard is to provide a description of the methods, procedures, tasks, and deliverables typically recommended or applied by professionals in audiovisual (AV) systems design and integration projects. The standard enables clients and other design and construction team members to confidently assess whether the responsible parties are providing the expected services. A successful professional audiovisual system installation depends on the clear definition and coordination of processes, resources, and responsibilities of the design and installation project teams. A properly documented audiovisual system provides the information necessary to understand and implement the system goals and project requirements in a logical and efficient manner. The documentation should complement and coordinate related architectural, engineering, and construction documentation. The Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes outlines a consistent set of the standard tasks, responsibilities, and deliverables required for professional audiovisual systems design and construction. Huff has over 25 years of experience designing, specifying, and overseeing the installation of professional audiovisual systems for education, corporate, and government institutions. Huff is a member of InfoComm's ANSI Standards Committee and moderator of the ANSI Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes workgroup. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and a High Technology MBA from Northeastern University. Huff is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the Society for Motion Picture and Television Engineers. "Brian's depth and breadth of expertise in audiovisual systems design is commendable," said Chris Savereid, president of Acentech Inc. "We are proud of Brian's InfoComm involvement and achievement of this ANSI/InfoComm standard, and we know he brings his experience and commitment to bear on his many projects at Acentech." Brian will also lead a workshop on the new design standard at the InfoComm10 Information Communications Marketplace Conference, being held in Las Vegas from June 5-11, 2010. Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
