ABC Mass. Chapter to hold Business Roundtable: Legal Issues About Social Media at the Workplace on April 23

ABC Mass. Chapter will hold a Business Roundtable: Legal Issues About Social Media at the Workplace on April 23 at the ABC office, 100 Unicorn Park Dr. Corey Higgins, an attorney with Mirick, O’Connell, DeMallie & Lougee, LLP, will be the guest speaker As more and more people use social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and Twitter, employers are increasingly confronted with a variety of legal issues stemming from their own use as well as their employees' use of such sites and blogs. During this roundtable, Higgins, will explore the key challenges and potential risks facing employers in the social media context, including the application of the National Labor Relations Act, invasion of privacy, defamation, discrimination in both the hiring and employment context, harassment and bullying of employees, and the disclosure of confidential information and trade secrets. Please bring your questions, ideas, and suggestions to make sure this session is relevant and useful for every participant.
