What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Over the past year, my most notable project has been the renovation of Betances School in Hartford downtown. As my first-ever renovation project, it has been instrumental in deepening my understanding of architectural design and the AEC industry. Being part of this project in design development provided me with the opportunity to apply my design skills in a real-world context and collaborate effectively which is a significant milestone for me professionally.

Who or what inspired you to join the AEC industry? From a young age, observing the seamless fusion of creativity, functionality, and innovation in architectural marvels sparked a deep-seated curiosity within me. As I delved deeper into the collaborative spirit of the AEC community and also the intricate balance between design aesthetics, structural integrity, and environmental sustainability, I became captivated by the profound impact that architects, engineers, and construction professionals have on shaping the world around us.

What are your goals for the future? My foremost goal is continuous learning and growth within the profession. Through experiences like Betances School, I aim to deepen my knowledge and skills, ultimately preparing myself to become a solid architect who can tackle complex projects with confidence and creativity.

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
