2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Yinka Kuye-Romelus, The Peabody Companies

Yinka Kuye-Romelus
Director of Portfolio Operations
The Peabody Companies

Number of years at firm: 1

One thing on my bucket list: Travel to every country in the world.

When I am not working, I am: Traveling with family and friends.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? As employee #4 from 2019-2022 at Tour24, I helped create an industry for self-guided touring in the multifamily housing sector with an award-winning app. I built and managed a cross-functional team, successfully executed strategic product roadmaps and implemented operational processes. I took a deep dive into the tech stack to build an exciting technology that solved a pain-point – how to lease apartments during off-hours to a generation uninterested in human interaction. Being part of this led me back to property management, where I’m excited to innovate from within to make a daily impact on people’s lives with Peabody Properties.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?

“Olayinka ‘Yinka’ Kuye-Romelus has shown exceptional leadership skills during her first few months at Peabody, navigating challenging site issues and collaborating on team member concerns with a caring yet direct communication style. Her observant nature, lightheartedness, and commitment to the team make her a strong candidate for NEREJ Rising Star.” - Adam Kenney, Executive Vice President, Operations at The Peabody Companies
