2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Chris McHugh, Erland Construction

Chris McHugh
Senior Estimator
Erland Construction

Number of years at firm: 8.5

One thing on my bucket list: Go Skydiving.

When I am not working, I am: Completing projects at home and chasing my son around the house.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? Within the last year, I was provided the opportunity to be the lead estimator for our firm’s largest project to date. This came with some challenges when lead times turned astronomical, material cost was unpredictable, and the availability of manpower was essentially nonexistent. However, I worked with the team to execute a plan to mitigate and overcome these challenges, which in turn helped our clients move the project forward.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Erland recognized Chris as a rising star within our industry from day one. Chris’ ability to thoroughly analyze and manage project developments, from their earliest concepts through final design, has been unparalleled. His technical skills, expanding experience, and client oriented soft skills truly make him a most valued Erland asset.” - Joe Petrillo, Director of Preconstruction and James McCormack, Chief Estimator at Erland Construction
